This could be anywhere. Turns out it's in San Francisco, on a corner past which I've walked probably dozens of times without ever taking any particular notice. To me, it looked completely different. It took just the right confluence of events for Flickr user merlinmann to be able to create this striking image from what is usually nothing more than an ordinary, average, everyday streetcorner. As he says himself, it was a lucky shot.
'Lucky shots' often wind up being my favorite photographs. They really illustrate the power of the camera by producing moments that the photographer may have never even been aware of.
